A classic West Coast IPA with a distinct bitterness, deep golden colour, and notes of pine, resin, and citrus. An ode to the West Coast, our Classic IPA is Whistle Buoy’s version of the style that has come to define our region on the global beer scene

Easy drinking with rich bittersweet chocolatey complexities thanks to a variety of dark malts as well as Maris Otter from our pals at Field Five Farm in the Saanich Peninsula. This beer finishes dry and smooth with a balanced bitterness.

Featuring concentrated cold brew from Discovery Coffee, this beer is low in alcohol and light in body, but has plenty of flavour. Fresh and bright like cold brew coffee on a hot day.

A smaller version of our Backyard IPA, using ingredients grown right here in Vancouver Island. Homegrown is a SMASH IPA (single malt, single hop) with Pilsner malt from Field 5 Farm and Centennial hops from Maple Bay Hop Farm. At 4.9%, you get all the IPA flavour with slightly fewer wobbles (hence patio IPA). Notes of citrus, melon, and biscuit.

This is my first Six Star review. We passed by on a late Friday morning, but WBB didn't open till noon. Sooooo glad we circled back because these beers were FANtastic. I asked the beer tender for his recommendation on the 3 best beers. He suggested a wet hop stout, a wheat and the stout on nitro. The wet hop was money. The wheat had a super fruity aroma. They both tasted great. Chances are your beers will be very different as they rotate beers consistently. I chatted up Connor who turns out is a co owner. They have a lot of pride sourcing ingredients locally. I sample a couple of ipas and went with a very well executed hazy ipa over the west coast and their Coastal pale ale which is their flagship. It was good but man that hazy was worth another. Got my wife a stout. Let me tell you, Chills! That beer was so on point. Delicious. Creamy. Light yet roasty AF. These beers are way Legit. Beer Nerd Certified 100% I asked Conner how he felt about Customers stealing glasses. They have 3 sizes and the 7oz was super cute and unique. He said it wasn't the worst thing to have his branded glasses in customers cupboards. Plenty of room inside. Games. Clean restrooms. Fridges with cans to go and merch. We sat outside in a large covered patio. It was comfortable with good views of the market. And on top of singing hi praise, my new beer buddy , owner extraordinaire COMPED me a glass. ok choking up now, kindness & gratitude. Whistle Buoy congrats on 5 years in biz, cheers to many many more!!!!!!

We had a lovely time at Whistle Buoy over the course of our time visiting Victoria. The beer and vibes were delightful. The staff was very knowledgeable when discussing the quality local ingredients that go into the brewing process. The self bussing station was no issue for us, it allowed the staff to serve large groups promptly. The overall atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Can't wait to go back!

Carla and Jenny were helpful with not just their tasting flights but local ideas of places to go. Their locally sourced hops for the beers the make onsite are refreshing and have interesting flavours I think everyone would enjoy. Did not try any eats

Great lager, cool retro vibes inside. Large patio in the plaza to enjoy. Lots of groups playing board games. Worth a visit if you are travelling and enjoy checking out small local breweries.

Enjoyed a flight of four samplers at whistle bouy on a rainy afternoon. Not very busy, but the server was very friendly and explained the nuances of each of the beer, so it was an enjoyable experience. I've been here in high season, and it was completely full, including the patio. We ended up sharing a table with two local seniors last time, and they shared some of the history of Victoria. Find people are very friendly in the city.
