Been here a few times, always great food, prices have increased over the time as with everything today. Finally tried the brunch and we went away stuffed, breakfast patter for 2, way too much food for us but so good. We jumped in eating before the picture, should be 4 pancakes. Never had cornmeal pancakes, fluffy and light, yummy.

We tried this spot in Dartmouth last month for brunch as it's great to have a few go-to brunches this side of the pond. We ordered this breakfast hash with a side of beans and the small portion was kind of disappointing. It has good flavour and was prepared well but it wasn't what we expected and the small portions to price ratio didn't really do it for us. The service wasn't great as our waiter seemed kind of disinterested and like perhaps he would rather be elsewhere. We would be unlikely to return.

The food was good but..... their concept of service is an insult. So, as explained by the cashier/server, the food and drinks are ordered and paid for at the bar before you sit. This means that you ponder the menu while standing with your coat looking at everyone at their seats. The cashier stands there waiting for you to order which felt very rushed. This process, as explained by the cashier, is to prevent dine and dash which the servers would have to cover. The best part is that the cashier/server was also the newest staff member, or seemed that way due to their limited menu knowledge so they would leave and ask a coworker some of the questions we were posing. No one came to assist them or us. What is an ultra annoyance is that a tip is expected before the meal or service is provided. Even Subway provides service before asking for a tip or payment. Not Upstreet! They want your money while providing the least amount of service at $20-30+ a plate. That's bull$%^%. When we were finally seated, no one came to see us unless they dropped drinks or the food. I actually got my food before my spouse or son, by quite a few minutes, but I couldn't eat because the f%^^$ robot server didn't bring the cutlery. For real, they have a robot, rather than improving the experience it amplifies everything wrong with this place. When we finally got our food and cutlery it was good. During the meal, no one checked on us. No one explained the sauces at the table, no one comes to ask if we want another drink. Nothing. For the people the meal came to $100 +tip. When I paid I left a 20% tip. I wish i didn't. I don't blame the staff for the restaurant structure but i won't encourage it to continue. Be better Upstreet! Provide a better experience that compliments the food and you will be a winner. I had the brisket dinner with potato salad and corn bread. My spouse had the salmon while my son had the Caesar salad with chicken. It was all good.

Went last evening. Ordered our drinks which came a long time after ordering. My drink tasted like no alcohol was in it. Server asked if everything was ok and I told him the service was slow , my drink was short on alcohol and my wife's coke, after asking several waiter, waitresses took forever to get a refill. To top it off booth we sat in was disgusting. The walls, the simplex box on the wall and the window sill are a mess. Table had dried bbq sauce on it. Love to eat here but this place needs to be looked at Not worth the $163.

TDLR: Amazing food, service sucked. Tip after your meal. So we decided to make the treck out to the outskirts of an industrial park to grab some meat from strangers. It was amazing meat, it was from a stranger, but I was extremely disappointed with the service. As you enter the restaurant, you are ushered with signs to make a single file line to the cash, like cattle at a farm. Here, you order and pay before you sit down. Don't forget to tip with options starting at 18%! After your bill is settled, you do get the choice of where to sit. Pro Tip: You may want to choose somewhere close to the cash so you can catch their attention. After some time your drinks and then food will arrive by different "servers?". Once these brief semi-human interactions are done, you can chow down in peace as you won't see a single soul after your food is delivered. The only interaction I had since receiving the food was when I walked to the counter to ask for a takeout container at the end of the meal. The good thing about the service here is that once you're done eating, you just leave. Otherwise the food is amazing and I would come back, but will bring cash to Tip after the service.

  • Commons

Style: Pilsner - Czech / Bohemian

    ABV: 4.5    IBU: 25

Our take on a Bohemian classic. Balanced and crisp, this local lager might be your new favourite brew. The Pilsner style comes from Pilsen, Czech Republic, the original city in which it was brewed. Following tradition we wanted to name our Upstreet Pilsner after its birthplace. In the 18th century, our brewery site was in "the Commons" - the outskirts of Charlottetown proper. Nowadays, you might say we're in the heart of the city, but we really liked the ring of “Commons”.

  • Gravedigger

    Style: Pumpkin / Yam Beer

    ABV: 6.5    IBU: 30

This recipe originated with home brewer Ryan Palmer (aka Mr. Gourd Halloween head) 2 years ago, became something of legend last Fall when Hogie and Ryan brewed the next version. You’ll find the malt bill amped up compared to other versions of this seasonal style to give the beer a full base, and to hold up to the several varieties of spices and elixirs which paint a palatable portrait of liquid pumpkin pie. We’re no longer brewing on our back decks but got just as much joy out of designing this recipe for our scale, taking a few risks, and diving right into the longest brew-day ever at Upstreet.

  • William Windsor

    Style: Porter - English

    ABV: 5.25    IBU: 0

With aromas of chocolate espresso torte and woody, minty hops, this English porter has a smooth and lightly creamy body finishing a bit bitter, just like its namesake, William Windsor – the cashmere goat who served as Lance Corporal in an infantry battalion of the British Army. Briefly demoted for “unacceptable behaviour, lack of decorum, and disobeying a direct order” for headbutting a drummer at the Queen’s 80th birthday, a Canadian animal rights group protested to the British Army that he was merely “acting a goat” and William was reinstated. He retired from his illustrious 8-year career in 2009, returning to Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire, England.
