Every once in a while a LEGEND comes around and revolutionizes an industry! For craft beer canning that legend is Jamie Gordon! A home-brew shop owner who, back in 1999, handbuilt a small manual canner for home brewers. The rest, as they say, is history! Jamie spent 16 years tirelessly devoted to traveling the globe to install, educate, and help every single craft brewery possible benefit from canning their craft beer! Tool Shed is one of those breweries and is honoured to have called Jamie our friend! We love that Jamie taught his boys, “Stop stealing my beer and learn how to brew it!!” so this stout is for Jamie! In order to mirror that classy, GQ, flat cap wearin’ style of Jamie, this stout is deeply roasty and rich with a surprising presence of hops and a beautiful, smooth, dry finish. If ever a stout were to rock a flat cap like Jamie did, this would be that beer!

If you could thank anyone for the amazing recent explosion of craft breweries opening in our province, who would it be? We'd like to thank Neil Bamford who, along with his amazing partner Tom Corbett, run The Vineyard home-brew shop. Where else does a craft brewing revolution start but at the local home-brew shop? Neil seems to be fuelled by a mission of turning home-brewers into pro-brewers. This one is for Neil. The beer is a sessionable Oatmeal Pale ale utilizing Cascade as a single hop variety which imparts sweet floral citrus aromas of grapefruit and limes balanced with slight spicy pine notes on the palate. At 4.5% with a balanced crisp bitterness, this beer is a PERFECT companion for summer patio session, but then again so is Neil.

At Tool Shed we often talk about helping make “A Better Alberta Through Craft Beer!” but what if we could create “A Better Craft Beer Using ONLY ALBERTA!"? Meet our latest creation, #PrairiePride. This beer boasts Alberta barley from Antler Valley Farms as well as Alberta Wheat. It is malted in Alberta at Rahr Malting and Red Shed Malting, hopped with Alberta grown cascade Northern Girl hops, brewed in Alberta with Alberta water and incorporates our very own Alberta wild yeast captured on Keller Farms and cultivated in the Olds College Brewmaster Lab. It is even packaged with our Cask Canning machine which is also proudly made in Alberta! This is our #PrairiePride. The beer is light and dry! It delivers spicy, wild, saison style notes thanks to the locally captured yeast. The visible wheat haze promises fantastic body and a smooth mouth feel. Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day 2018 welcomed women from the local beer industry to brew with us for the fourth year in a row! This year's brew is a Double IPA with a big nose and huge taste. We've hopped at every step with Cascade, Palisade, Chinook , Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra for a beer that is worthy of its name. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we have enjoyed brewing and canning it for you! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer are used to establish the Pink Boots Bursary. This bursary helps women enrolled in the Olds College Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management Course.

Our head brewer, Lisa wanted to make a saison reminiscent of the subtle characteristics of white wine grapes. We used Huell Melon and Hallertau Blanc hops, which impart the fruity notes Lisa was looking for. We've also used Rocky Mountain malt from Red Shed Malting to impart a unique malt flavour. Enjoy!

On the 50th anniversary of this iconic event, we’ve gathered for the first ever LGBTQ+ industry collaboration in Alberta to release a juicy, sessionable, hazy pale ale. We are celebrating the bravery of Marsha P. Johnson and remembering that Pride started as and continues to be a protest. Boasting a smooth pillowy body, very low bitterness, and a powerful citrus flavour profile from Citra and Mandarina Bavaria hops, you’ll be doing a double take to make sure you didn’t pick out a can of orange juice to accompany you in your Pride celebrations this summer!

Tool Shed Brewery is truly a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm welcome that makes you feel right at home. The service is outstanding, with the staff providing great food, including some of the best chicken wings I've had in Calgary. They also offer excellent beer recommendations to perfectly complement your meal. The atmosphere is vibrant, with great music that adds to the overall experience. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a fun spot to relax, Tool Shed Brewery is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

first time, and the last time. The beer is ok. But you can buy them drink at home. Drop off on Friday night around 6 pm. Less than 10 people in the huge area. The food is salty, and dry. Nothing really enjoyable. However, the server did a good job. Give her a big thumb up. Not recommend at all.

I recently hosted an event at Tool Shed for 150 people. I had the pleasure to work with Alicia who set us up for success. She made it easy to choose menu and venue set up options. The taprooms were excellent, food superb, drinks well received and overall evening exceptional. I am 100% satisfied to have chosen Tool Shed for our celebration event!
