Saturday afternoon visit for some hotdogs we heard so much about. We each had the grilled cheese hot dog and split the chilli cheese dog. Too much food. Amazing taste and value. Didn't have any beer today but went with the Annex Root Beer and Saskatoon Lemonade. We were going to try the feature pizza dog but were too full

The description of our $17+ nachos sounded delicious. They were the worse nachos we've ever had. I could have counted the incredibly cheap quantity of nacho chips topped with minimal processed cheese that seemed diluted then thickened with flour a bit yuk. (See photo) we shared a $13 la carte hot dog.. didn't include fries, or coleslaw. Prices you only see at the Calgary Stampede. Even food truck hot dogs are less expensive. The tables were cramped together where we endured a very loud atmosphere. We couldn't believe a couple sat there with an infant. The guy at the till was very nice and our beer was tasty, but that's just not enough to bring us back to this brewery. Never going back.

This is the bar that Bowness needed - and perhaps might be the best new bar in Calgary. Atmosphere is chill, beer is good and fresh. The Signature Pub Ale is the best ale of it's kind that I've ever tried in Calgary. My girlfriend loves the Bownesian Rhapsody Sour (orange, mango and banana) - and I'm looking forward to drinking it in the summer. The servers do their job well without being too eager to impress (new places are often at fault of this). Solid non-alcoholic options. Kid friendly, too. Straightforward menu, very well priced and enjoyed the food. Great experience, looking forward to coming back.

After consist-casual visiting since opening day, it felt overdue to finally leave a review; one thing worth mentioning upfront: service can occasionally take a few extra minutes, but for good reason. The person taking your order is often the same person pouring your beer, which means the line can slow slightly while someone ahead of you carefully weighs the merits of one of the brewery's 15 or so batches. In my experience, the wait has always been reasonable and well worth it. As for the food, I've worked my way through the dog selection more times than I'd care to admit. They're exactly what a brewery dog should be: satisfying, well-executed, and refreshingly affordable in an era where menu prices seem determined by a roll of the dice. Can you make a cheaper version at home? Yes. But that applies to most food items at any restaurant.. I can't speak to the rest of the food menu, but the dogs have never disappointed. The beer lineup is where this place really shines. About 90% of what's on tap lands squarely in my personal sweet spot, which is an impressive batting average. The brewery isn't afraid to get creative with beer names and styles, and while some offerings can be adventurous, the staff are always happy to provide a sample when things aren't too busy. It's a great way to find your next favourite pint without committing to a full pour. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between relaxed neighbourhood hangout and destination brewery. There's often a lively energy in the room, and the occasional live music only adds to the experience. Finally, I'd be doing this place a disservice if I didn't recognize Kyle behind the bar. Great service is about more than simply taking orders and pouring pints, and Kyle consistently demonstrated that. He served every beer with genuine pride, kept conversations flowing naturally, and somehow managed to make everyone feel welcome while keeping things moving efficiently. In an industry where memorable service can make all the difference, he set a standard that's become part of why I've kept coming back. If you're looking for good beer, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere, this spot continues to deliver year after year.

Honestly some of the best beer in the city. Wide range of styles, everything from a solid lager, to excellent stouts, to punchy IPAs, to off the wall sours. There's something for everyone. For non beer drinkers, there's local cider on tap, non-alcy options, canned cocktails, etc. But seriously, the beer is incredible, have the beer. The food menu isn't great for people with dietary restrictions as a minor heads up - limited options for vegetarians and/or people with dairy or gluten issues. If you appreciate a good hotdog though, you will be happy.
