At 5.6% ABV, this full flavoured brown ale has become our most popular Irish style ale. A roasted nutty flavor blends with a hint of chocolate and finishes with a gentle bitterness. Henry’s Irish Ale won Silver at the 2017 Ontario Brewing Awards. Henry’s Irish Ale was named after Henry Calcutt, a prominent figure in both Peterborough and the brewing industry, having opened a brewery in 1855 on Little Lake in Peterborough. Our 2018 New & Improved O'Leerie stout will remain true to the same great taste, but with adjusted malt balance, will increase mouthfeel, reduce acidity, and increase chocolate notes to create a perfectly balanced flavour profile. This Stout pairs perfectly with steak or meat pie. The name O’Leerie Stout is a tribute to the Electric City as Peterborough was the first city in Canada to use electric street lamps. Publican House Brewery is excited to bring the iconic KLB Brewery back to Peterborough! 17 years after Kawartha Lakes Brewery beer was last brewed in its birthplace of Peterborough, ON, our vision of bringing it back home was realized with our first batch of KLB Raspberry Wheat brewed in our Brew House in May 2019. After years of KLB production in Toronto, ON, Publican House Brewery is thrilled to have to opportunity to take over production of KLB Raspberry Wheat and return KLB to the Kawarthas. KLB Raspberry Wheat is one of the original fruit flavored wheat beers made in Ontario and has won many awards and accolades over 20 years. Raspberry Wheat is lightly hopped with a high percentage of wheat malt, and a pure raspberry extract is added in the final stages of the brewing process. This brew is light amber, with a frothy white head; a crisp, full bodied brew with a unique raspberry aroma & a satisfying wheat finish.
