A friend and I stopped by the Ashton Pub after attending the local Fibrefest in Almonte. She had never been and we were not disappointed! The food and service is always amazing here, as is the on-site brewery. I did not take some home this time as we had just restocked a couple weeks earlier! Can't wait to go back again!

The location and decor are awesome. The food and beer are average. We only had the Brewers Three cheese dip but the chips were stale and the dips was okay. The beer wasn't our thing but the view and vibe were great!

We went there for late lunch. The service was non existent. She acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Never came to ask how our food was. And the food was mediocre. Seafood chowder had chunks of salmon in it. The crepe tested like the sauce was the same as the soup, except the fish, it had chicken pieces in it. I would not go back.

We had a cream ale by Ashton Brewing Company's beers while my partner and I were in Ottawa for the night and were blown away with how good it was! Turned out the brewery was a short detour from our drive home so we decided to stop in for dinner on our way back - what a GREAT decision! It is just a couple of minutes off highway 7 in a very cool Bavarian looking building. The atmosphere is an eclectic, laid-back pub feel with good music, friendly staff, quick service, and great food and beer! We are already looking forward to going back next time we are in the area and would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food or good beer! 10/10!!!

  • Amber Ale

This is our flagship beer. We consider it the “A” in ABC. It was our first creation and this gem continues to be our most popular beer. An excellent introduction to the craft beer world. • Harvest Brown

    Style: Brown Ale - English

    ABV: 6    IBU: 18

Our brown ale is a brown with bite, at 6% it is stronger than the traditional brown ales. With its smooth body, inventive hopping, and deep roasted flavours, it’s so well balanced that it’s hard to detect the slight increase in alcohol content. It’s a beer that makes it hard to say no to a second.

  • Cream Ale

    Style: Cream Ale

    ABV: 5    IBU: 20

Traditionally cream ales were made by ale brewers trying to simulate lagers. Many of these brewers added flaked corn to the recipe to give it a smoother, creamier taste, hence the name "cream ale". Ashton cream is made with a combination of grains, these include pale malted barley, carastan malt, and wheat flakes. The beer has a light golden colour, is moderately hopped, and has a creamy mouth feel. Using sazz hops for aromatics, imparts a slightly floral nose and may cause pilsner drinkers to think they have just ordered their favourite Czechoslovakian pils. This is a great beer for people that are not convinced that they like the traditional British ales, but want a premium beer with a north American flare.

  • IPA

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 5    IBU: 37

Our British style IPA is a good start for those willing to wander off the beaten path of traditional Canadian beers. Embracing a refined approach to hops for today's India Pale Ale, our goal is to brew a flavourful pint with all the great subtleties this style of beer can offer. Balance is the key to this popular blend that will leave you wanting to have another.

  • HopStravaganza

    Style: IPA - English

    ABV: 5    IBU: 40

First brewed in England for troops in India during the late 1700s. To withstand the voyage, IPAs were tweaked Pale Ales that were much more malty, boasted a higher alcohol content and were well hopped. It is believed that troops were served watered-down versions of the beer while officers and the elite enjoyed it at full strength. Over the decades, alcohol content lowered due to taxation so less need for malt and hop presence to keep beer balanced. Hopstravanganza is a traditional style English IPA, brilliant pale color with flavor and aroma citrus notes up front. Bitterness starts softly yet sharpens quickly towards the end...and it lingers.
