What a fantastic brewery! I didn't think that a small town like Shelburne would have something like this, but we went there on a Sunday afternoon and I just loved the atmosphere there. Wish I had more time to go at night, but will definitely have to come back!

The small town of Shelburne is lucky to have such a standout spot. The food is hearty, the atmosphere is top-notch, and the service is unbeatable. It's a place where you can kick back, enjoy a great meal, and feel right at home.

Visited on August 4, 2017, in the evening (should of had souper there). Located just off Route 103 on your way to historic Shelburne, a short distance on a dirt road. Medium size tap room and shop, about 8 on tap plus a dozen bottles and small growlers to go. The staff could have been a bit friendlier. I had to tasters, Wild Axe Pilsner and Tropic Thunder Stout, quite nice. There is an independent food truck just next to the terrasse, but only there in season. Not the most impressive spot to drink, but nice!

We came for lunch on a Saturday and had the place largely to ourselves. We felt very safe and welcomed and comfortable! The veggie panini was delicious and paired well with the six-glass flight of beers. I really enjoyed the apricot wheat in particular. We bought some of our favorites to go and I wish I'd brought a growler to fill!

A great place to stop for a beer and some light refreshment. Came here on a warm fall day to sit on the patio after our adventure. The beer was great! The server gave us a few small samples to try before we settled on our top choices. I had the Indigo -a blueberry sour, made into a shandy and it was so refreshing. My friend went for the Puck Off because she wanted something nice and light. They had a kiwi lime beer that I loved. And an Apricot Wheat that was very good too. You may be guessing by now that I like the fruity kind of beers. But there are loads of others to choose from if you do not. Like any taproom you can do a tasting flight. We ordered some nachos and some potato wedges for appies. The nachos were great. They didn't skimp on cheese or toppings. The potato wedges had great seasoning and came with this delicious garlic aioli that was made in house. We really liked our appies so decided to split a club too. The club was more like a grilled chicken burger with crispy bacon, tomato and lettuce on a brioche bun. We added the garlicky potato wedges to that too, because they were so good. We grabbed a few cans to take back to the cottage we were staying in and hit the road. The atmosphere was lovely. We enjoyed the patio - lots of picnic tables and my dog was happy to get out and stretch his little legs. It's good to find places that are dog friendly when you travel. The service was really great. Lots of locals going in and out saying hi to the staff. There's a community feel which I love. There is a lot of pride about the quality of beer and food that they offer. Simple but tasty. And that's just what we wanted on this warm October day. I wish I had taken some photos but I guess I was too hungry. Next time I go. We will surely be back.

  • Over the Top! Sour Cranberry Wheat

    Style: Sour - Other

    ABV: 4    IBU: 0

This beer is a collaboration with Karen Allen from Gahan House. It is the first sour mash beer to be brewed and packaged in NS. Refreshingly tart and awesomely sessionable, this beer began with a 48-hour sour mash, in which our lactobacillus friends thrived, partied and arm wrestled. A late hop addition imparts a fruity aroma to balance the sour malt base. Nova Scotia cranberries dry out the finish and add a subtle depth of flavour and give it an amazing colour.

  • Sessionista

    Style: IPA - Session

    ABV: 4    IBU: 0

The first thing you notice is an intense malt aroma reminiscent of an English Bitter, surrounded by a floral whiff of lemon blossoms and orange. Then some roasty malt notes on the palate followed by a pithy lemon-lime finish. Not too bitter, not too heavy, just right for summer at 3.5% ABV, yet so full of flavour you'd swear that it was more. - See more at: http://boxingrock.ca/blog/sessionista#sthash.zkO5a7uG.dpuf

  • Patricius

    Style: Stout - Irish Dry

    ABV: 5    IBU: 0

Legend has it that Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. While that story is unlikely, he has become the patron of great Stout. So in tribute to the guy, we brewed Patricius Irish Stout, named for how ol' Paddy identified himself to others in the pubs of his time.

  • IPA

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 6.6    IBU: 0

IPA. It’s an overused term these days. It now covers a broad spectrum of beers that get called IPAs for no other reason than they have contain more hops than, say, a Pilsner. Call us traditionalists, but we think IPAs need to be hoppy, strong, dank, and yes, a bit bitter. Our IPA has just the right amount of IPA hops like Summit, Cascade, Nelson Sauvin, Waimea and Simcoe. Drink it fresh. Enjoy with friends.
