Influenced by the Mexican spiced milk drink, this easy-drinking horchata stout is spiced with true Ceylon Cinnamon and the finest Madagascar Vanilla bean’s for a decadent, but not over-the-top, spiced stout. Notes of milk chocolate, and espresso from the darker malts are balanced by a creamy sweetness and rounded vanilla finish.

This “sweet as” lager is styled after the pilsner’s typically found being brewed in New Zealand. A mix of German and Canadian pilsner malts lays a light but not too intense base for the New Zealand hops to shine. Hopped primarily with Motueka, and supported by a couple new to us hops, NZ Cascade and The Bruce, this beer has some nice orange and lime aromas with a light crushable body.

Legend has it there is something that lurks beneath the surface. For this West Coast IPA however, we’ve got nothing to hide! Lake Monster is a West Coast IPA that is light and crispy, yet loaded with Strata and Citra hops! There has been whisperings about this old tale for years; so is it true? It’s up to you to find out!

We couldn’t decide on which style of IPA we wanted to brew so instead we mixed two together. This Hybrid IPA is a cross between a West Coast IPA and a Hazy IPA; giving it an explosion of tropical and citrus notes. It is Hazyish in appearance and brilliantly delicious. Take a chance on our little experiment, we think it is pretty swell.

This German-style Festbier was styled after the beers you might find in a German beer hall during Oktoberfest. A rich malt profile is balanced with traditional German Noble hops and a lot of Oompah Band nostalgia. Perfect for those nice Oktoberish days

Jeff is complicated. Jeff is creative. Jeff likes IPAs but wanted one that had his own modern spin on it. New world hops and big notes of citrus, it’s a beer that breaks boundaries, just like Jeff.

A modern take on a West Coast IPA, this “cold” IPA is fermented with lager yeast and features a high percentage of flaked rice for a light and snappy malt body. Dank and juicy Centennial, Mosaic and Amarillo hops are the real star of the show and bring notes of candied Orange and Evergreen.

We’re not very fancy but sometimes we can be fancyish. When we wanted to class thinga up a bit, we made a call to our friends over at deep roots winery. To keep the beer rooted in our surroundings, we added freshly pressed gewurztraminer grape juice from their vineyard into the fermentation;then, we hopped with citra and eukuanot hops. A luxurious hybrid experiment, providing a delicate blend between fruit-forward flavours and a tart acidity. A fancyish drink with fancy friends.

Ridiculous is our take on a High-Density Hop Charged IPA, using Citra hops in 3 different forms, pure extract, Cryo hops and classic T90 pellets. Expect a depth of lovely Citra flavour from a seriously ridiculous amount of hops. Big notes of tangerine, lemon zest, and juicy fruit gum!

My friend and I stopped here for a Mexican supper. We had the taco combo - me, the pastor and tempura shrimp; her, the tempura shrimp and baja fish. I also ordered a spicy margarita. Everything was very flavourful, but the pastor taco was quite dry. There were 6 salsas that were also very good, so I tried to fix the dry meat with some sauce. Atmosphere was loud and busy on a Sunday night. Patio seemed like a great option except the wind picked up, so we stayed indoors. Lots of drink options.

We tried a Tortilla Soup, Chili, Soft Tacos, and a beer flight at Neighborhood Brewing. The place was bustling busy on a Sunday evening. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The beer flight came quite quickly along with a tray of hot sauces. The food took another 10 minutes after. The wait was worthwhile as everything was presented hot and delicious. We were particularly impressed with the Tortilla Soup which is full of flavours with the perfect spice level. The Chili is very hearty with a good amount of beef and beans. Both the Soup and Chili were served with a generous side of warm tortilla chips. The Tacos were nicely presented too. We tried the Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, and Pork Taco. All were delicious and nicely seasoned.

Asked for a pet friendly dinner recommendation at a wine tasting at Haywire and she wasn't wrong! Turf and misters on the patio. Water bowls and fresh water for each dog. Side of beans were so good. Servers were as attentive as you want without being overbearing.

Have been down to the Neighborhood 4 times now, great brewery. We like all the tacos (trying to try them all once, will get there!) and love the hot sauce basket they come with. The spicy pineapple sauce is my favorite! The Johnnys, 3 Amigos, Happy Place and Way of Life are my fav brews here. I feel the menu prices are a little high for the portion sizes. Service can be a little slow at peak times but usually pretty good. The patio on a hot sunny day w the misters on has really good vibes.

Visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The place has an industrial feel to it with cement floors and sturdy furnishings. A large staircase leads to the second floor. Beers on tap listed on the wall and off sales and swag available at the bar. We had the power bowl (no refried beans) and the Royale Tatchos. Portions were fair and the food was filling. They bring a selection of salsas to the table for guests to mix and match with their meal. Unfortunately I have allergies to gluten and fish. This restaurant is NOT considered safe if you have a severe fish allergy. Our very conscientious server told us "fish touches everything". I decided to take the risk and order the power bowl with no proteins and I am fairly certain the kitchen were careful with my food. The restaurant has only a small deep fryer so unfortunately between the grill and the fryer, everything is going to be cross contaminated. Although we had a good meal and I am still alive to tell about it, this restaurant will be on my "avoid" list in future.
