Lovvvvvvvvvve their beers! They're super nice people there, their beers are of a wide variety of flavours but they do them all so well!! Their Sweet Tea Ale is my favourite!! You can buy their beers in can, bottles and growlers (moonshine jugs). The food around back is off the hook!! We had the sweet potato tacos and the chicken fried steak sandwich with dirty rice. Unbelievably great food!! Full of flavours, quality and it's literally just art!!! The vibe there is so chill and everyone there was just relaxed and hanging out. Totally worth the drive there!! Live music in the summer (we're hoping to play!) And it's literally THE Best place in the area. A small town called Virgil in Niagara on the Lake. We just love it there!! Can't wait to go back!!!

I have been to Oast House many times, and the experience is always top notch. It is a quaint and charming facility, with friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great vibe. Of course, the beers are excellent, and we enjoy trying various seasonal ones. There is always a great variety along with the staples like Barnraiser. Definitely worth a stop when in the area.

What a spectacular place. Anna was a fabulous host and did the brewers a huge credit by giving great in-depth knowledge on the beers sold and how they are produced. An absolute must for any beer lover. We will be back!

Decided to try Patina Pizza at Oast this past weekend. It's been on my list to try and I'm glad I finally did. Ordered the Patina Pep and it was fantastic! The crust was nice and crispy and had a great flavour to it. The pizza had a generous amount of pepperonis on it and the sauce and cheese were perfect. The basil leaves on it were a nice finishing touch. Easily a 10/10 pizza and will be back to have it again.

Best brews in the area, an amazing vibe, and incredible staff! If you like visiting breweries where all the beers are brewed in site this is the place for you. There is something for everyone with a huge variety of styles. Growlers of beer and bottles available on site to take away to home or your vacation rental. Tasting and flights are inside which is a great welcoming space. Inside they also have a wonderful upstairs space available for events. Out back they sell beers on the patio to enjoy on a nice day. The back patio overlooks a beautiful vineyard. They have food on sight either pizza or bbq depending on the season. The staff is one of the best parts. They really need to give Anna a raise as she is a complete joy to hang out with. Overall this is one of the best breweries I have been to around the world.

    Style: Pale Ale - American

  • Pitchfork Porter

    Style: Porter - English

    ABV: 5.3    IBU: 20

Traditional dry English-style Porter with an array of roasty and earthy flavours – coffee, dark chocolate, raw cocoa bean and toasted nuts. Rich and malty, with a medium-bodied mouthfeel.

  • Saison

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison

    ABV: 6.5    IBU: 20

Golden yellow in colour with a pillowy white head from the effervescence one may only find as a result of secondary fermentation. Initial flavours of banana, black pepper and citrus fade into a yeast driven earthy character and bone-dry finish. The concentrated effervescence, not only creates body, but also adds a silky, smooth mouthfeel. This quality has earned bottle-conditioned Saisons the reputation for being one of the most versatile beers in the world to pair with food.

  • Biere De Garde

Style: Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Garde

    ABV: 7    IBU: 0

Keeping with this style, our bottle-conditioned Biere de Garde is a more robust, malt driven Farmhouse Ale with characteristics of caramel, cocoa, burnt sugar and dark cherries. As it ages, the darker brownish hue fades into that of reddish-orange, with the minute oxidation creating a wonderfully complex profile. This beer is a real treat around the two year mark!

  • Country Bumpkin

    Style: Pumpkin / Yam Beer

    ABV: 5.3    IBU: 18

    Aroma and taste: Pumpkin Pie

First seen on Friday, September 27, 2013

  • Sweet'n Sow'r Biere De Mars

Style: Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Mars

    ABV: 5.5    IBU: 18

Containing a gorgeous orange hue, this beer derives its intense puckering character from the use of a sour mash. This occurs when the brewer lets the wort sit on the grain and the natural bacteria and yeast sours it. After a subtle sweet fruitiness hits your palate upfront, a long tart finish quickly takes over.

  • Farmer’s Tan

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 6    IBU: 40

A bright ans juicy West Coast IPA designed to quench. Big tropical vibes (passionfruit, tangerine, pineapple & stone fruit) that burst with flavour and quickly rush the palate. Finishing slightly tangy, with a fresh zip.

  • R.R. #4 - Oak-Aged Peach Hefeweizen

    Style: Wheat Beer - Hefeweizen

    ABV: 5    IBU: 18

August in a pint glass! Fairly hazy, slightly filtered hefeweizen with juicy Niagara peach prominent. However, the depth of this beer is quick to follow with layers of sweet vanilla and toastiness from the oak. Medium bodied, with a slightly sweet finish.

First seen on Sunday, August 24, 2014

  • R’Oasted Chestnut

    Style: Brown Ale - English

    ABV: 5.3    IBU: 20

Malt forward English Southern Brown Ale with hints of burnt caramel, toffee, char, dark toast and roasted nut character from the chestnut addition. The chestnuts are all grown a few kilometres from the brewery and are roasted in house.

  • R.R. #1 - Strawberry Rhubarb Ale

    Style: Fruit Beer

    ABV: 4.8    IBU: 17

Can’t get any fresher if you were face down in the strawberry rhubarb patch! This light, thirst quenching summer ale perfectly balances the sweetness of local strawberries with the tart character of rhubarb. The specialty yeast adds a slight biscuity, pie crust to round it all out. Medium carbonation, with a dry finish.

  • Forgotten Field

    Style: IPA - Sour

    ABV: 6    IBU: 50

The wort is soured in the brew kettle for the weekend with lactobacillus and then finished like a normal brew. While heavily kettle hopped and dry-hopped like an IPA the acidity of the sourness creates a different flavour and aroma experience. The sourness contributes some fruity characteristics in combination with the hops giving a refreshingly tart hoppy beer.

  • Hef's Big Wood

    Style: Wheat Beer - Hefeweizen

    ABV: 6    IBU: 18

A hefeweizen that is both fermented and aged with oak. Similar to Chardonnay in wine, the rather neutral character of the hefeweizen style really showcases the delicious aromas and flavours of the oak – vanilla, banana, spice (clove), mild bubblegum and toasted wood. The mildly sweet finish carries the big flavour intensity right to the end.

  • R.R. #9 - Toasted Walnut Bourbon Barrel-Aged Porter

    Style: Porter - Other

    ABV: 7.1    IBU: 30

Deep, dark brown in colour. A complex malt profile of vanilla, burnt sugar and dates blends perfectly with the earthiness & nuttiness of the toasted walnuts. Lastly, the bold, rich flavours of premium Bourbon whiskey derived from the barrels add the final layer of decadence to this cold weather sipper.

  • R.R. #2 - Cherry Berliner Weisse

    Style: Sour - Berliner Weisse

    ABV: 4.9    IBU: 8

With a brilliant red hue, this classic take on the German Berliner Weisse style is brewed with fresh Niagara cherries. Its tremendous puckering character derives from the process of adding lactobacillus to the mash and allowing it to sour naturally. After a slight touch of sweetness up front it finishes sour, crisp and clean.

  • Verjus Sour

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Other

    ABV: 6.4    IBU: 7

Completely unique to the Niagara Region and the Brewery, the Verjus is made by pressing under ripe (green) Pinot Noir grapes from Lepp Farms. Verjus translates to “green juice” which is precisely what it is. Brettanomyces 3 was propagated by our brewers to create a unique in-house yeast variety. The use of 3 different malts impact the body and mouthfeel: pilsen (base malts), flaked wheat, and whole wheat malts. One hop addition of the Magnum variety adds minimal bitterness, resulting in very low IBU’s.

  • Dunkel

    Style: Lager - Munich Dunkel

    ABV: 5.5    IBU: 0

First seen on Monday, September 2, 2013

  • Full Orchard

    Style: IPA - Farmhouse

    ABV: 6.1    IBU: 70

A layered beer with flavour and aroma aspects coming from both hops and yeast components. The 100% fermentation of Brett contributing a significant tropical character along with funky and earthy phenolics. Would make for some good cheese pairings with cheeses like blue cheese as well as some sharp washed rind cheese.

  • Oost Indie Bier

Style: Historical Beer - Kuit / Kuyt / Koyt

    ABV: 5.6    IBU: 25

This is a beer style that was popular in the Netherlands in the early 1500’s. It has been said to be the predecessor to the European IPA. It is highly hopped with European noble varieties. Although it might not seem like it on first glance it is a hop forward beer but not in the way we are used to now with our big and bold North American hops. European noble varieties give a much softer, subtler hop character. The malt bill is also quite different as the Dutch tended to use high amounts of oats in their beers as it was inexpensive and readily available. This also sets it apart from its more modern counterparts.

  • Ol' Farmer Brown's Dark'Ass Ale

    Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale

    ABV: 7.9    IBU: 28

efore going to bottle for secondary fermentation, however, it was aged in freshly emptied local Cabernet Franc French Oak barrels for a period of 6 months. The result is an opaque beer of big malt flavour with a red wine vinous quality and rustic, barnyard finish from the brett. Tremendous depth in profile with contributions from the malt, multiple yeasts and barrels.

  • R.R. #10 - Russian Imperial Stout w/ Dark Plums

    Style: Stout - Russian Imperial

    ABV: 10.4    IBU: 0

Opaque black stout with a tan tinted head and excellent retention. This big, chewy Russian Imperial Stout is fermented with dark plums that have been deliberately left in cold storage for a period of time to oxidize and gain natural complexities. Post fermentation it is then barrel aged for several months to further concentrate. The result is a blockbuster in flavour predominant with roast coffee beans, dark chocolate, raisins, molasses and a very slight hint of roast game. Residual sweetness and alcohol will leave the lips a little bit sticky with a gentle warming sensation.

First seen on Sunday, December 28, 2014

  • Black Sow'r Stout

    Style: Stout - Other

    ABV: 6    IBU: 25

Despite its pure black colour and big malt character, this beer is sure to surprise once it hits the palate. This stout has actually been kettle soured with lactobacillus, giving it a refreshing component with a burst of tart acidity. While the typical stout notes of roast, chocolate and smoke are there, there is also a notable aspect of tangy, sour berries. Unlike many stouts, it drinks very well in the warm weather months and is bound to tantalize with its uncommon complexity.

  • Pap's Pilsner

    Style: Pilsner - German

    ABV: 4.8    IBU: 25

A highly approachable German style pilsner, featuring the classic upfront fresh bread-like character. A light grain maltiness that soon fades to the distinctive grassy, flowery notes of the noble hops. Medium bodied, with crisp carbonation that finishes refreshing, clean and dry.

  • Can Arriere-Pays Grisette

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Grisette

    ABV: 4.2    IBU: 25

The Grisette Farmhouse Ale was traditionally brewed for the miners to quench their thirst. Like the refreshing Saison this lower alcohol and lighter drinking Farmhouse Ale is high in yeast-driven aromas and flavours of banana and black pepper while remaining very easy drinking and refreshing.
