Bursting with aromatic American hop varietals, Through the Glass is a double dry hopped IPA that is bright, juicy and highly aromatic. It’s loaded with aromas of mango, peach and candied citrus that are delivered on a soft, fluffy malt canvas. A delicate mouth feel and gentle, but present, bitterness ensures that this beer never tires the palate.

We’re a couple of idiots who thought it was a good idea to open a brewery in an old retrofitted calf barn (the jury is still out on the intelligence of this move). We make a lot of different beers in very small batches, but between our tasting panel of 2 childhood friends and 1 wife, we’ve determined that this is the recipe we like most. It’s hazy, juicy, and fruity with notes of peach, berry and citrus delivered on a cloud-like pillow for your mouth. It’s all the things we love in a hoppy beer, and it’s one of our OG recipes.

Be honest. Be humble. Be authentic. Be good. Let go. Be yourself. Be happy. Be free. Elevate features a blend of Citra and Sabro hops for a deliciously unique citric, coconut forward IPA. Prominent notes of tangerine, coconut, crème, and tropical fruit present themselves over a soft, honeyed malt body. Enjoy with an open mind and the ones you love.

Barry and Mary met when they were young. They’ve been together ever since. They were friends, lovers, and loyal companions. They built a life replete with joy, sadness, struggle, reward and most importantly, each other. In life they were inseparable. When Mary crossed the continent, Barry followed. When Barry needed to go back, Mary followed. They traveled the world. Built a life. Watched their children grow old and have children of their own. They were filled with contentment. And then they died. Now as bones, they find themselves together once more. Barry and Mary, forever. A union as great as Barry and Mary deserves an equally celebrated union of hops: Citra and Galaxy. Two hops that are absolutely sensational in their own right, but when blended together become greater than the sum of their parts. Big flavours of passionfruit, citrus, peach and tangerine.

Glass Garden is part of our Through the Glass family of beers. This family was formed while trialing a multitude of different hop and recipe combinations for what ended up becoming our OG IPA. Though we ended up with a recipe for Through the Glass that we truly adore, we also ended up discovering a number of other recipes along the way that we also love and simply couldn’t leave behind. We’re very excited to be able to share this family of beers with you! Glass Garden features a blend of Citra and Simcoe hops. It drinks soft and fluffy with big notes of mango, grapefruit, pineapple infused citrus and subtle pine.

Welcome welcome welcome! To the softest galaxy in the entire universe, Cashmere Galaxy. We can’t confirm or deny, but we have heard rumours that this galaxy is actually just one amazing pair of sweatpants. You know, the ones you wore throughout COVID isolation that feel like your legs are gliding through a cloud when you put them on. Those ones. Cashmere Galaxy is an IPA hopped with Cashmere and Galaxy hops. We taste notes of peach, pineapple, melon, and tropical fruit. Drinks as soft as the fiber, and galaxy itself.

The fox. A cunning trickster that is as sly as it is striking to look at. With its beautiful burnt orange coloured fur, it’s undeniably adorable pointy ears and soft face, it’s hard not to love this omnivorous little mammal. Which is why we decided to build a beer with similar characteristics. The nose leads with deliciously enticing tropical fruit aromatics and soft floral notes. We taste orange, citrus, bright tropical fruit and a hint of floral character over a soft malt body that is burnt orange in color. Deceptively smooth, and beautiful to look at, the malt character is subtly toasty and honey forward, amplifying the onslaught of fruity hops that await your mouth.

Beer Bus is a beer in commemoration of the opening of our beer bus in November of 2019. Has it been open for several months already? Yes. Some may even say that it’s been through an entire winter season. Maybe we’re just really slow at getting beer labels completed. Stop judging! The beer bus was our solution to a severe lack of indoor space at the brewery. Even with the bus, there is technically no “indoor” space per say. It’s just a shell that we pump heat into during the winter and in the summer it’s just a bus that you can sit on. Fun fact: it was formerly a church bus. Dry hopped with Galaxy and Mosaic, this beer absolutely slaps. We taste notes of candied peach, mango, pineapple and orange zest.

ELMO was born out of our dual hop program where we blend hops together in pairs looking for happy marriages. When we land on a blend we like, we go full portmanteau and try to jam the hop names together to make a new, single name that hopefully sounds like a real, audible word. ELMO features a blend of (EL) Dorado and (MO)saic hops. It also happens to be the name of a lovable muppet character from Sesame Street; so that's fun. We taste notes of distinct tangerine, pineapple candy, mixed tropical fruit and lingering pine.

Tree Crawler is an all Citra double IPA. Built on a bed of oats and english yeast esters, Tree Crawler is our expression of Citra hops when pushed to its fullest. We built a luscious, neutral malt body that supports the heavy hop dosing rate, while also allowing the aromatics to shine. What we’re left with is a deceptively drinkable citric treat. Tree Crawler leads with prominent orange citrus notes followed closely by candied mango and melon with residual grapefruit and pine. It drinks perceptively sweet, but in actuality finishes on the drier side with a gentle, but satisfying bitterness.

Everyone knows the playbook on modern IPA. You take Citra & Mosaic hops, oats, and an english yeast strain and BAM! You’ve got yourself the prototypical hazy yoooooose monster that is NEIPA. That's what this beer is, straight out of the textbook on modern IPA. Also a fun fact, we'd never made an IPA with just Citra and Mosaic before… until this beer. We taste notes of tangerine, mandarin orange, papaya and tropical fruit. These hops are besties for the resties and it’s no accident they’re the “go to“ for the style. They work incredibly well together.

Did we trade beer for a sweet, wood stained table? Yes, yes we did. This was the beer we exchanged in a true throwback to a time before currency; where things such as lumber and ale ruled supreme. You can still find this table in the beer bus to the left side of the bar/serving area. It is beautiful and was built by Mike's brother in law, Shavin. We appreciate him. Lumber for Ale features a heavy dosing of Simcoe hops. We taste dense notes of orange citrus, pineapple and a delectable dank piney resin note

Nelly is our singular expression of Nelson Sauvin. One of our favorite, but always elusive (and expensive!) hops from New Zealand. We also figured that this was the perfect time to name a beer after our beloved doggo, Nelly. If you've been to our bottle shed, there's a good chance you've seen her around (she's the black/white border collie/aussie shepherd). She's a high energy nutzo farm dog, and we love her dearly. We taste notes of gooseberry, melon, tropical fruit and white wine

This Vic Secret focused IPA leads with prominent pineapple and citrus notes that are backed by tropical fruit, peach, apricot and some light pine needle and grapefruit character. Secret Wave crests over your palate, drinking initially as fresh pressed pineapple juice only to hit you with a second act that delivers mixed citrus and tropical fruit.

Did you know that gamma waves and gamma rays aren’t the same thing? We didn’t either. Gamma rays penetrate and destroy matter. Think nuclear meltdown, bad bad not good. A gamma wave is a pattern of neural oscillation in humans that, according to a popular theory, may be implicated in creating the unity of conscious perception (i.e. perceiving multiple things at once, like noise and pain simultaneously, rather than as singular, isolated experiences of pain, then noise). I know, that’s a lot to take in for a beer label. Dry hopped with (Ga)laxy and (Ama)rillo, we taste a gentle bitterness, silky, mouth coating softness, fruit on fruit violence, and happiness. All at once. Yes, we are also aware that we spelled GaAma wrong.

Picture yourself in a grassy meadow where the hills roll as far as the eye can see. It’s late spring and you’re sitting at height with the valley below. The sun shines with a familiar but pleasing warmth. The wind gusts, gentle and fresh. The trees blow in white noise like rustles that rise and fall. The birds chirp, but their songs are rhythmic and in perfect harmony. It is a natural symphony. Can you hear it? That is Soft Sound. Soft sound is a big fluffy double IPA that was dry hopped with all the Mosaic. We love Mosaic here at Badlands, and Soft Sound is our canvas to showcase it solo. We taste notes of tangerine, citrus, berry, and tropical fruit.

Marma is one of the older recipes we have in our arsenal. It was originally brewed in 2017 as one of our earliest IPA releases and quickly won us over and left a lasting imprint on our beery little hearts with its big orangey flavor. Its name is derived from orange marmalade, which we think does a great job of describing its flavour profile. We hope you love this beer as much as we continue to. Hopped with Citra and Amarillo, we taste big notes of orange, tangerine, lychee and tropical fruit.

An explosion frequency is the scientific term for what one observes when you analyze an explosion through a divergent interferometer. These observations are more commonly known as blast waves… Just kidding. I have no idea what an explosion frequency is. It’s just two words that sounded cool when said aloud, and when we googled it, nothing other than something related to gas leaks and exploding buildings came up so we decided to take the high road and totally make up what it meant. Explosion Frequency is a DIPA brewed with Citra and Loral hops. Loral is a hop we’ve always really liked, but couldn’t find a place for in our lineup. With strategic dosing of Loral, it completely changes the way Citra is presented, and we absolutely love it.

The third beer in our "Spotlight Caledon" series; where we highlight the varied attractions, natural beauties and landmarks in and around the Caledon/Headwaters area. Inglewood is a small village within the town of Caledon and is one of the closest to our brewery. The credit river and Bruce trail run directly through the village, which makes it a quaint and scenic beauty to take a stroll through. Hopped with a blend of Mosaic and Bravo, this beer pops with notes of citrus covered berries and tangerine orange with tropical undertones.

New Zealand produces some of the finest hops in the world. Their growing region has a character unlike any other in the hop world and we are exceptionally smitten by it. Some of our favorite varieties to blend with come from the region, which is why we wanted to brew a beer that was aggressively hopped with some of our favy mcfavorites, and the results are sublime. Dry hopped with the holy New Zealand trifecta of Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka, and Motueka we taste heaven… but also gooseberry, lime, tropical fruit and dank berries.

The amygdala: your number one friend for processing and retrieving all of the various emotions your brain desires, or maybe doesn’t. Either way, the amygdala has you covered for any and all emotional reactions you may or may not need! It is the little almond shaped piece of your brain that regulates your emotional responses, and for our label we decided to animate a fun little devil on your shoulder/in your amygdala. His name is Larry. Provocative is an IPA that features a blend of Galaxy, Citra and Amarillo hops for a peachy, passionfruit, and grapefruit forward beer with some tropical fruit and citrus character. It is one of our favorite combination of hops and a beer we long for regularly.

My wife and I had our first kid in 2020. His name is Liam. To mark the occasion, we named the next unnamed beer in the schedule after him. This ones for you buddy! Hopped with some of our favorite hops du jour, this beer continues to be a great freeze frame of where our IPA game was at in 2020. We’ve kept the recipe exactly the same and only adjusted our processes to where they are at today. Hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Sabro, and Motueka, we taste notes of tropical fruit, lime, coconut, gooseberry and unconditional love.

This beer is named after that awesome kid who attended our first year birthday party and, while in the process of spray painting our "tag it" wall, decided he would upgrade his shoe color to a dazzling gold. Luckily his parents were also pretty cool about the whole DIY shoe upgrade. We love your DIY spirit; stay Golden, kid. This beer is one of our favorite 2 hop combos: Simcoe/Mosaic. Big notes of tangerine, berry, and dank citrus. Real yummy mc yummerton

Very provocative is the amped up big sister to our single IPA “provocative.” In this version of the label, Larry is just being a real scamp. Use a toilet and put some pants on! Ah well, we still love him and his mischievous ways. Keep being you, Larry. Very provocative is a Double IPA that features a blend of Galaxy, Citra and Amarillo hops for a bombastic expression of peach and passionfruit with some residual grapefruit, tropical fruit and citrus character all wrapped up in a creamy malt body.

Small-scale brewery with a limited but tasty rotating selection on tap, and other non-alcoholic options for those that want to enjoy the rustic, charming outdoor setting. Staff are friendly, and hustling to get liquids, burgers and fries (out of their onsite trailer kitchen) out to the locals. Drafts onsite and cans to go as well as merch. I stop in whenever I'm in the area, highly recommended to chill for an hour or two.

It was a lovely evening outside! They have a great selection of IPAs (our fav). The smash burgers are incredible tasty. They are petfriendly as everything is outdoors, they have a well-covered area for rainy days. The only downside is the washroom. They have decently clean portable washrooms, I just wished they would have some different setup. A lot of parking and some cute cows to watch while enjoying the beers!
