We visited them twice while in Chester and I must say that their beer is wonderful! I especially liked their double IPA.Their staff is also very friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about their products. I cannot wait to visit Chester again next year as I understand they will have a place in the village for the public enjoy their wares!

I haven't actually had the beer I purchased but the sample was fantastic as was the knowledgeable staff. OK, so not exactly where or what I expected to see after following a side road to a back road but worth the trip. Thanks.

  • Pale Ale

    Style: Pale Ale - Other

    ABV: 5.5    IBU: 20

This is our everyday drinking beer. We use a base grain called Maris Otter, a premium British malt that gives a richness & nutty character to add a bit of complexity to an everyday style. Brewed with American hop varieties but used sparingly for both IBU’s and flavours.

First seen on Friday, December 29, 2017

  • IPA

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 6.5    IBU: 50

We produce lighter version of the style, while still moderately hopped. We’ve decided to concentrate on the aromatics of the hops by using five different varieties to give a more complex & less bitter version of the favourite beer style. Lots of tropical and citrus notes on the nose and palate.

  • Wheat (Hefeweizen)

    Style: Wheat Beer - Hefeweizen

    ABV: 5.2    IBU: 14

We modified the traditional recipe a bit and produced a beer with a bit more malt character and weight to it, while still maintaining the traditional notes of clove and banana.

First seen on Saturday, October 28, 2017

  • Sauvage

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison

    ABV: 6    IBU: 20

A Nova Scotian Ale brewed with Shoreline malt a local NS yeast strain from Big Spruce Brewing. This beer has been made to really showcase the yeast. You’ll find tropical fruit such as pineapple, mango & a bit of lemon rind on the finish.

  • Lemondrop

    Style: Kölsch

    ABV: 5.2    IBU: 20

A German Kolsch style lightly dry hopped with Lemondrop hops at several stages throughout the brewing process. Enjoy the classic cereal character of our usual Kolsch, but with undertones of sunny lemon.

First seen on Saturday, May 16, 2020

  • Porter

    Style: Porter - English

    ABV: 5.7    IBU: 25

Loads of roasted dark malt character with notes of coffee, chocolate and caramel. This porter offers some bitterness, but balanced by a sweeter malt profile.

  • Altbier

    Style: Altbier - Sticke

    ABV: 5.6    IBU: 40

Our Altbier is a version of Altbier called a Sticke Alt. This classic style differs from a traditional Altbier by being darker, fuller bodied & intense in flavor with higher IBU’s to balance out the caramel & molasses flavours.

First seen on Sunday, July 29, 2018

  • Kottbusser

    Style: Historical Beer - Kottbusser

    ABV: 5.6    IBU: 20

This very old German beer style was brewed in the town of Cottbuss, apparently a region that played fast & loose with the Reinheitsgebot purity laws of the time. This beer is made with barley, wheat & oats, lightly hopped & fermented with a german ale yeast. Once fermentation has ended we added honey & molasses.

  • Helles

    Style: Lager - Helles

    ABV: 5.4    IBU: 18

Our Munich Helles is a light gold, mildly hopped lager brewed in the classic German style. Fermented slow & cold, you’ll find a clean bread and light biscuit flavor balanced by a touch of bitterness. This refreshing medium bodied beer is the perfect easy drinking everyday beer.

  • Nelson Saison

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison

    ABV: 6.8    IBU: 40

Hopped at several stages with Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand, said to be similar in aromatics and flavours to a sauvignon blanc wine. Notes of gooseberry, passion fruit, pineapple and lemon with a full body and long finish.

  • Belgian Blonde

    Style: Belgian Blonde

    ABV: 6.3    IBU: 30

An easy drinking, higher alcohol beer will catch you while you’re not looking. Lighter malt flavours mixed with lighter spicy and fruity esters from the yeast make for a nicely balanced beer. Although this beer registers at 30 IBU’s, they’re almost hidden by everything else going on in this beer.

  • German Steam Beer (GSB) / Dampfbier

    Style: Historical Beer - Dampfbier

    ABV: 5.2    IBU: 20

  • Brut Musqué

    Style: IPA - Brut

    ABV: 6.5    IBU: 10

Produced to emulate one of our favourite grape varieties, muscat. We added peaches, grapefruit and orange zest to the boil along with a few hops for flavour but not bitterness. Once we moved the beer to the fermenter we added fresh NS strawberries & after several days dry hopped with hops carrying citrus character. An enzyme was also added to make this beer very dry, hence the Brut designation. And like a wine this beers aromatics open up in the glass.
