Our Pale Ale is an immensely drinkable East Coast interpretation of this classic beer style. Using pure Glanbùrn artesian water from Nova Scotia’s pristine Eastern Shore, our Pale Ale starts with a nice hit of hops on the nose, a delicious balance of specially selected malted barley and both English and North American hops in the middle, and a dry finish that delivers a refreshing beer of rare character.

Our IPA is a Rare Bird that stands out in a crowd. Handcrafted with pure Glanbùrn artesian water on the historic Guysborough harbour, our dry-hopped IPA introduces itself with a big hit of New World hops on the nose. The taste is deliciously juicy with lots of upfront citrus and peach notes before coming into balance with light caramel notes. The finish is clean and dry, a refreshing and immensely drinkable East Coast take on the classic beer style.

Just like the friendly characters on Nova Scotia’s authentic seacoast, our Red Ale is easygoing and great to spend some time with. Handcrafted with our Glanbùrn artesian water, this richly coloured beauty opens with a nice whiff of toffee and smoke from deep roasted malts before coming into balance with American hops and a refreshing bit of spice from Canadian rye.

Now we’re blasting off with Rocket Lager, our tip of the helmet to the new spaceport just down the road in Canso. We handcraft this smooth American style session lager with pure Glanbùrn artesian water to create an easy drinking beer that is meant to be enjoyed cold for a crisp and refreshing taste that is out of this world!

You know it’s spring when the sap is brewing on the Authentic Seacoast. Fresh sap from local maple farms finds its way into the kettle as the base for this uniquely Nova Scotian brew. We add a nice balance of hops and malt along a hint of fresh local maple syrup and spice to create a copper coloured, light-bodied ale that celebrates the bounty of our Nova Scotia forests.

In the tradition of the colonial brewers, Rare Bird Pumpkin Ale begins with our hardworking hands picking pumpkins and squash in local fields. We spice and roast our harvest bounty before adding it in two stages to our brewing process, creating a full-flavoured craft ale that balances the beer’s hop character with the spiced pumpkin.

This heritage ale takes us back to our Maritime brewing roots in 1659 when spruce was used to flavour beer, a staple both on shore and on the sailing ships that came into Guysborough harbour. Today, our hand-picked local spruce buds are added to the hops in the brewing process, creating a crisp, medium body ale with a refreshing spruce nose that captures the arrival of spring on the Authentic Seacoast.
