The real Bumblebee Bight is just down the road, from the Pilley’s Island brewery that honours it’s same name. A wondrous IPA which boasts a light hop haze, a fruity pine mixed aroma and has a very balanced bitterness. With this IPA you won’t have a drinking problem, just a thirst problem. Pass me that chummy would ya? 6% APV

When you reach Flat Rock tickle, you know the wait for the adventures into Long, Pilley’s, Triton and Brighton Islands are beginning. Like the beer, once opened, the rich amber colour skips into the glass and the adventure begins. The flavour on the tongue is a swirl of malts and citrus hops. It’s full bodied flavour pops with a hint of nut and woody finish after each earthy taste. It is a lot easier to start the day when you know it will end with this beer. Whatta y’at? 6% APV

West Bottom is a small community that hugs the bottom shoreline of Halls Bay and whose quiet place is a calm in a storm. The sparkling and clean look of this Pilsner with it’s crisp hint of citrus and delicate malts, leaves a rich and well balanced taste on the tongue. As you explore the design of the can you can’t help but ask is my beer half empty or just half way to the next one? Where y’longs to? 5.5% APV

A nod to the scenic Green Bay and to those who turn down Hwy 390 for home. Halls Bay Pale Ale has wonderful colour and has a mix of layered aromas as big and as busy as Halls Bay itself where sailboats, whales and incredible sunsets abound. A smooth finish leaves one wanting another, to keep the aromas and tastes coming. The best beer for drinking with friends. It’s time to get on the beer 5.8% APV

Great place to stop for a beer/sour on your way across the Rock. Service was lovely, and the beer just as good. Lots of unique flavours and blends to choose from. Had a few flights so we could try them all!

Did not stay at the Inn, just ate at the restaurant. I had the fish cakes and hubby had the fish tacos.and fries Soo good. Best fish cakes I have ever had, and the fish tacos were delicious as well. Came back the next day for lunch! This time hubby had the fish cakes.... Still the best ever. I had the cod fish burger special with beet salad on the side. Again, sooo good!! Huge portions, fresh fish. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They are also a Harvest Host, so if you are a member you can reserve to camp in their parking lot overlooking the water. But even if not a member, you can ask and they will let you stay overnight in the parking lot.

We made the reservation and received a confirmation at 7:15am on Sunday to stay the following Monday night. Everything seemed fine and we left our house for the 6hr drive to get to the inn. When we arrived, we found out that the inn and pub were closed! We checked the website and said it was open. What a waste of time! We called, emailed, and messaged on Instagram without any replies back. We went to the local gas station and the lady there was very helpful and tried contacting someone on our behalf. Turns out it was the cleaner who she contacted as the owners were out of town. She told us that reservations that were made up until 9pm the previous day were called to re-book, but we never received a call. We gave up and left in disgust, only to drive 3hrs to Twillingate where we knew places would be open. To the owners: you need to change your reservation system that doesn't allow reservations to be completed. People have lives and schedules and your system ruined our day. If you're in the service industry, you at least better make an effort. If not, just stop. My wife and I work within the tourism sector and we'll surely never go back there.

By far the most delicious and quaint restaurant/brewery I was fortunate to visit during my trip to Newfoundland. The owner was so personable and welcoming. We had the muscles and calamari and they were both delicious!! We also had some of the beers and they weee great too!! I HIGHLY recommend stopping in to enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere!

Had a nice meal there today with family. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the pizza and fish and chips. Meal portions are generous and reasonably priced.
