During the heyday of the British Empire, India Pale Ale was born as a strong pale ale brewed especially to endure the rigors of the long journey to the colonies. In order to guard against spoilage, I.P.A. was brewed with a high alcohol content and with liberal amounts of hops, which act as a natural preservative. This ale's golden amber colour only hints at its full-bodied flavour. Its sumptuous maltiness is tempered by a goodly amount of bitterness and a mouth-filling hop flavour. In order to finish our I.P.A. with a truly fresh hop bouquet, we dry hop this ale in the serving tank with both East Kent Goldings and Mount Hood hops.

If you’re no longer scared of the dark, then there’s no reason to be afraid of our stout. A generous portion of rolled oats and lots of black roasted barley give this beer a warm, roasted nose, and a distinct dryness that succumbs to waves of lingering satisfaction.

Style: Stout - White / Golden
ABV: 5.1 IBU: 33
Steamworks White Stout takes the rich typical stout flavours and body imparted from oats and barley, but without the dark coloured, roasted malts traditionally used in a stout. Instead, these roasted notes come from first aging the beer with whole espresso beans from East Vancouver’s Pallet Coffee, and then with whole cacao beans from East Van Roasters. The result is a deliciously unexpected brew that pours light gold with a thick white head.

Always a fun time to be had at Steamworks. Their menu is like upscale bar food, where the traditional bar favorites are there, but they are done well. They're known for their beers, so it makes sense to grab a couple of brews with friends, family, and coworkers. It's a very busy spot as well, so booking ahead is recommended. The washrooms are a tad difficult to find as you need to walk through the lower floor to get there, but overall, a good experience.

My wife and I had a phenomenal time at Steamworks Brewpub in Vancouver, BC! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like VIPs, so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. We both got a beer sampler, and the variety of beers was exciting and fun to explore. Sitting at our table, enjoying the view out the window, laughing, and savoring each unique brew made for a truly memorable experience. We can't recommend Steamworks Brewpub enough. Whether you're a beer lover or just looking for great food and service, this place has it all. Five stars for an incredible experience!

It had been years since our last visit to Steamworks, but thanks to some spontaneous circumstances, we found ourselves back and I'm happy to report it's just as lively as I remember. Pretty packed for a weekday lunch, but with that prime location, it's no surprise. Service was decent, and our Austrian friends got a proper West Coast welcome with their first taste of clam chowder, which seemed to be a hit. I could've used more Green Goddess dressing in the chicken bowl, but that's just personal preference, the food itself was solid.

We won't order the same food, or maybe never go back again as i got sick from eating the tartar sauce. My friend did not eat tartar so he did not get sick. Also, we ordered the fish and chips. 1. There was no fish in the batter 2. The chips were stale 3. And again, i got sick from the tartar sauce. The only redeeming thing is that the waitress was lovely.

Amazing location, very diverse and interesting tasting beers, and a super cozy and authentic ambiance. The service is top notch, and the industrial view adds an additional kick to their amazing 9% Blitzen. Worth a visit!
