Pesky Pig Pale Ale is named after Francis the Pig who stole the hearts of carnivores and vegetarians alike in the summer of 1990. This 220 pound porker evaded his fate by jumping a wall, navigating the slaughterhouse and escaping into Red Deer's parkland. Our Pesky Pig Pale Ale is meant to really let the hops sing. The malt presence is quiet but supportive of the rambunctious hop flavours of grapefruit, papaya, and other tropical fruits. The usual hop bitterness has been reigned in while the flavours and aroma have been allowed to run amok, making for a delicious, intense, yet ultimately quaffable beer.

Open Road is for those looking for something a little darker and malt forward. Pumpernickel bread and raisins dominate the palate but finishes with chocolate, while the hops lend just a hint of citrus and pine to balance out the sweetness of this easy drinking dark beer.

Golden Gaetz showcases the renowned quality of Canadian Malts. The malt furnishes the backbone of light bread or biscuit with sweet corn, while the hops provide balance with a hint of lemon followed by black pepper and just a whisper of dark berries. It's lower strength and bitterness make it the perfect beer to enjoy on a patio, while camping, or pretty much anywhere!

Troubled Monk - Buck Tooth Belgian White When Doris Forbes rescued Mickey the Beaver in 1939, an unusual friendship was born. Mickey would chew on the wooden furniture, try to 'dam' up the doors and would become grumpy when Doris was away. Despite Mickey's troubled behaviour, their odd friendship grew. While Mickey's fame spread and he soon became beloved throughout Red Deer and the world, Doris and Mickey's bond remained strong, proving that sometimes the best friends are the most unlikely. The Troubled Monk Belgian White (Witbier) was brewed to toast their legendary friendship. Enjoy its creamy, light body, citrus and spicy notes with your own unusual friends.

The long awaited follow up to the first Blindman Brewing and Troubled Monk Brewery collaboration is finally here. Two breweries that are so close that they even shared a podium at the Alberta Brewing Awards have put their heads together to give you the latest IPA style- Brut IPA. This bone dry IPA uses extra enzymes to convert all of the sugar into food for the yeast. The result is a hop forward delight with no residual sugars and extra carbonation. Almost like hoppy Champagne! This tropical fruit and citrus flavoured hop heaven is going to disappear fast so you had better grab it now- You never know how long it will take for these breweries to come together again.

Hints of caramel sweetness support the tingling spicyness of the rye malt, while big classic hop flavours are showcased with the help of an assertive bitterness. Citrusy, piney, resinous hops hearken back to the recent past, to the tastes and aromas that saw the domination of west coast IPAs.

We are please to crow about this new seasonal release and recent silver medal winner at the 2018 Alberta Beer Awards. The aroma starts with biscuit malt and sweet caramel which are joined by dark fruits, raisin, and cotton candy once it is sipped. A slight spicyness from the Belgian yeast and a subtle hop bitterness balance the rich sweetness. A great beer to savour as long as you are mindful of the 8.4% ABV!

Troubled Monk is an absolute gem! The ambiance is greatchill and welcoming, with an industrial feel that really sets the mood. The beer selection offers something for everyone, from crisp lagers to bold IPAs and a fantastic seasonal stout. Tanis was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to help us choose based on our tastes. Highly Recommend this place.

They're too damn good. Seriously be careful with this stuff. Their hard tea is the best I've ever tried by a long shot, and I am a seasoned tea connoisseur both of the alcohol type and non-alcoholic type and this stuff is simply wonderful. This is probably what the Greeks drank to inspire such amazing poetry and art

We had our wedding celebration in the cellar venue, and it was such a stress-free day. The bartender we had was amazing at making drinks and was very kind. The staff let us bring in our own food for the party and decorate as we wanted. Thank you to the staff for making our day extra special!

Love this place, drinks are excellent not much side dishes. It's too bad that one of them I really like but it's a seasonal item so don't sell in cans only on tap. Would love to go again for the next road trip.

You're always greeted by friendly faces at Red Deer best craft brewery! This place definitely has cozy brewery vibes in the winter and a perfect patio in the summer. Oh yeah! The beer is great too, always have something good on the rotating tap and the core brews will never disappoint.
