We stumbled upon this place walking down the street and were happy we decided to stop in. The beer was excellent and unique and they had some good cocktails too. The staff was friendly and the patio area was really nice. My only complaint is that the flights come with 6 beers and by the time you get to the last 2 or 3 it's already warm. It would be cool if you could split them up into groups of three so they don't get so warm!

HLB is a hidden gem that I want to remain hidden. Mainly so I can continue to snag a patio spot at prime times whenever I want. The beer menu is very unique and I find myself returning time and time again. My current favs include the Creamsicle, Dadge (cucumber ale), and Zingiber (ginger beer). I got the CDCW Nitro Stout today and the thick creamy foam top was

Absolutely loved our evening here! Came after a concert nearby, and had no problem getting in. The drinks were awesome, and we picked up a growler of our favourite. Hot dogs were tasty. The staff were really friendly and answered all of our questions. Definitely going to be back!

I don't think we (friend group) will be visiting again anytime soon. We love(d) this place, but lately the staff are incredibly surly, the kitchen closes hours before the posted closing time - seemingly at random (we have been stung by this 3x now), and even with four folks on staff and a half full establishment there is no table service. However the beer is - as always - excellent. I recommend taking it to go.

Good friendly service. A decent amount of patio spacing but also a good amount of indoor too. The menu offers interesting beers like a creamsicle nitro to a yerbe mate hard tea. They also serve hot dogs (it was ok) and charcuterie boards (saw lots of people ordering this). Good atmosphere with a well versed menu (not too big and not too small but something for everyone).
