Every brewery needs a guardian. Meet ours, Christopher; the all seeing gargoyle. He’s been watching over the building for years. As the bell tolls in the darkest hour Christopher is always keeping a watchful eye. Midnite Umber Ale pours ruby brown and has notes of candied apricot, toffee and brown sugar balanced by a solid hand of southern hemisphere hops. The best of tease and temptation.

With its misty mountains, secret beaches and deep mysterious pools, it’s no wonder the Cowichan River was designated as a Canadian Heritage River. Take the plunge and dive into our Heritage River Hefeweizen. Brewed with a traditional Weihenstephan yeast strain this beer is full of Satsuma orange and citrus flavours, and unfiltered to retain a full flavoured profile.

Idle Hands pours chestnut brown and has aromas of orange blossom and vanilla. The head is bone-white and reveals flavours of toffee malt, candied orange peel and a dash of vanilla bean.

Only for the open-minded and curious. Threesome is part sultry, part wild and 100% fun. The almondesque, herbal character of hemp balances a seductive and tart scarlet hibiscus, complemented with Cowichan Valley honey. A pleasure for all the senses… kick back, relax and let it happen.

Look out! It’s the Invasion of the Blackberries!!! An experiment gone wrong in the lab took over our brewmaster and the brewery, then, everything went black. So beware as thorn covered arms try to reach out and take over your minds and your taste buds. More than a few blackberries were harmed in the making of this beer.

So glad we stopped in here! Red Arrow provides a lovely atmosphere, great food and drinks, and super service at reasonable prices. Can't ask for more. We shared the 12" pear and blue cheese pizza, delicious! Just the perfect blend of sweet and tangy on a perfectly cooked thin crust. The chef knows what he/she's doing. The Lakehouse Lager went down well too. Our server (sorry didn't ask her name), was so welcoming and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back here!

Came here for a quick bite. Had flights of beer, loved the orange ale. Tenders and fries was not bad, chicken was super tender but a little saltier, good to go with beer, fries on the other hand was so so, not so crunchy. Pizza was the thin type, I had margarita pizza but felt disappointed, the flavour was very plain and the dough had no texture. Some people said their fish taco was good, might try them if I come to the neighbourhood again.

We get our growler fills on Mondays for $10 or $12 bucks each great selection and cans as well. Always fast and most of all excellent service. I hear they may have come out with a punch card for $100 bucks for 10 fills any day of the week. Best value on the island!

Food was good. My server was nice too. Went there for a birthday dinner and food took forever to come out. There was a mix up on meals, forgotten fries.. wrong burger that got eaten and had to wait for another to come out. Took 30 minutes for mom in law to get a drink. And before we knew it their event was about to start - music bingo or whatever it was. People by the door (inside) were staring us with annoyed looks, my kind server asked us to start paying our bills. Partner went up immediately to go pay but then had to wait 10 minutes for them to sort it out No offer to compensate for any of the mistakes (which we would have declined anyways). Generally felt very uncomfortable watching everyone eat while I waited for my burger, and then again when their event was beginning. No one else working there had a smile on their face. Customer service (other than my server) is a 1 star to me. just seemed unorganized and unhappy staff- maybe from the time crunch. My recommendation to avoid things like this happening is to either a) prioritize your party reservation so you can get them out sooner and/or b) don't allow reservations on the same day as an event - or make it 3 hours before minimum. Typical dining time is 1-2 hours, but with delays and a reservation/party it should be a big money maker for you. Half hour for a drink from someone who would have had much more is a loss in business.
