Miners Bay was lovingly termed 'Little Hell' by the miners during the 1858 Fraser Canyon Gold rush that brought up to 30 000 hopeful Californian miners to the region. As a paddle wheeler stop over between Victoria and the Fraser River, Miners Bay became a ROUGH boom town AND sported the only liquor outlet and only Goal (Jail) in the Southern Gulf Islands at the time. This Belgium Triple styled Strong Ale has notes of apricot and a rich malty finish.

We were riding our bikes around Mayne and nearly rode by this gem! A quick U-Turn and a short uphill climb brought us to one of the coolest little breweries. A couple of cold beers is exactly what the hot day called for and Mayne Brewing did not disappoint. There is a decent list of beers to choose from and, in typical small brewery style, it is self-service. The outdoor seating area under the trees is a perfect setting to enjoy your beer. I was really impressed with the beers we tried and will be back during our next visit to the island.

An authentic Mayne island experience at its finest. Limited to about 12 parking spaces so ride your bike or carpool. The owners are super chill and they brew on pico sized 1-1/2 barrel system turning out some truly, artisan handcrafted and super delicious beers.

On a bike trip and a must drop by if you're on Mayne! Got here just in time for their Oktoberfest beers and it was smokey and full bodied. Grab some chips and sit by the barrels!

Mayne Island Brewing was a great find. We were on Mayne Island for three days and came back every day to sit in the trees and enjoy a flight. It was never too busy for us to get a spot to sit. The staff were great to talk to and the atmosphere was peaceful. You could purchase mix and match beers in a four or six packs to take away (note not twist off caps, have a bottle opener).
